Fertilization Program:

By working with leading local and nationally recognized horticulturists, McKinney Lawn Company has developed a fertilization and weed control program that will ensure that your lawn stays healthy, thick, and weed free.

Fertilization – We use only the finest, timed-released, high-nitrogen, fertilizer. The soils in McKinney are primarily composed of high-alkaline clay.  Nitrogen is the element our natural soils need the most for healthy plant growth. We recommend that your lawn be fertilized once every four to eight weeks throughout the active growing season.

Pre-Emergent Weed Control – Pre-emergent weed control can be administered as either a granular application or spray application. Pre-emergent herbicides kill or prevent many different types of unwanted weeds and grasses from progressing past their seed form. One of the main reasons for pre-emergent application is for the control and prevention of Crabgrass, Goosegrass, White Clover, and other grassy & broadleaf weeds.

Post-Emergent Weed Control – Post-emergent herbicides are applied via spray, and only after properly identifying the weeds present in your lawn. One of our licensed technicians will evaluate your lawn to determine what type of broadleaf & grassy weeds are present, and apply a specific post-emergent herbicide to deal with those weeds.

Insect & Grub Worm Control:

Insect Control – Application of insecticide for control of grub worms and other ground insects is potent for approximately 90 days.

Fire Ant Control – Call us before your service and we will apply a insecticide to kill the mound. Please note that this bait will prevent new mounds from forming.
